The Southshire Community School welcomes the public to our adaptation of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll on Thursday, December 19 at 7 PM at Theater D207, VAPA, Bennington College.
Join Alice in her journey down the rabbit hole as she meets a seemingly unending cast of unique creatures in a slew of fantastical experiences. You’ll recognize familiar names and themes from this work that have become the stuff of popular culture. From the White Rabbit to the Cheshire Cat, and from the Mad Hatter to the Queen of Hearts, this story is full of characters that the students have enjoyed getting to know and be.

Southshire Community School students hard at work preparing for last winter’s play, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Each year the students produce two plays. Join the school for their production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland at 7 PM on Thursday, Dec 19 at VAPA, Bennington College. Free and open to the public.
The Winter Play is a long-standing tradition at Southshire; one of two theatrical performances each year. This will be the thirty-second Winter Play in the school’s history. Early each winter and late each spring the students’ interest shifts from academic studies towards creativity and social interaction as they work on two theatrical productions each year. The entire student community, from the youngest to the oldest students, work together to develop and produce the play. They design and sew their costumes, create sets and props, and, of course, practice lines.
The public are welcome, and the event is free.
Update: we’ve uploaded a video of the performance here. Enjoy!
